At Podernuovo, we had one of our best wine tasting experiences ever! It all was perfect from the first moment. The unique architectural beauty of the winery itself and the views of the surrounding Tuscan and Umbria countryside are fantastic. The tour of the winery by our very enjoyable and extremely knowledgeable host Letizia was both interesting and informative. Then the tasting was held in a lovely room overlooking the wine-aging room on one side and olive trees on the other. Letizia poured four of Podernuovo’s wines (all were very good, particularly the Argirio cab franc and the Soterio sangiovese) and paired them with a delicious light lunch prepared by the clearly talented winery chef. And this experience was all just for my wife and I, which we assumed was because it was January, but we learned that they only do their tastings for private groups such as couples, families and groups of friends. We highly recommend you include this on your Tuscan or Umbrian itinerary, but make sure you reach out to them to make a reservation beforehand.
